General information only — not advice
Payout.nz provides calculators and general information about New Zealand pay, leave, tax, and KiwiSaver rules. Everything on this site is general information only. It is not financial advice, tax advice, or legal advice, and it is not "regulated financial advice" under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 — we describe how the rules work; we do not recommend financial products, funds, or providers, and nothing here takes your personal circumstances into account.
Estimates, not guarantees
Our calculators simplify legislation such as the Holidays Act 2003 and IRD PAYE rules. They cannot account for every employment agreement, leave history, payroll system, or tax situation. Results are estimates. Your employer's payroll and Inland Revenue determine the actual amounts. Always verify important figures with your payroll department, Employment New Zealand, Inland Revenue, or a qualified professional (such as an accountant, lawyer, or licensed financial advice provider).
No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, damage, cost, or expense arising from the use of, or reliance on, this website or its calculators — including decisions made based on estimates shown here.
Accuracy and currency
We aim to keep rates and thresholds current (minimum wage, PAYE brackets, ACC levy, KiwiSaver settings), and we state the effective year where relevant. Legislation changes — typically each April — and there may be a delay before updates appear here.
Not affiliated with the New Zealand Government
Payout.nz is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Employment New Zealand, Inland Revenue, MBIE, or any government agency.
